A carved pine fireplace in the George III style. The frieze with centre tablet featuring a Greek key pattern, flanked by circular paterae end blocks, surmounted by moulded shelf with egg-and-tongue moulding. The opening is framed by a carved floral border and beaded inner moulding, with plain outer jambs and block footings. The stripped pine finish gives the piece a lighter, more informal appearance, suitable for both traditional and contemporary interiors. English, 19th century. NB.
