Thornhill Galleries recently supplied a well carved bolection chimneypiece in Portland stone. This elegant and understated moulded fireplace is carved with oak leaf decoration throughout and features a cross banded ribbon to the centre of the frieze. Portland stone is quarried on the south coast of England and its neutral tones allow it to work with a variety of colours and furnishings. It is used here in a minimalist context – the off-white wall colouring and white travertine stone flooring help promote the art work and furniture.
This English stone chimneypiece was a copy of a period original mantel piece and could be made to any size in various materials if required. For further information on this fireplace, please click the following link.
This Queen Anne styled fireplace is accompanied by a Regency style polished iron firegrate of arched form, with reeded front overlaid with steel cross band ribbons to match the fireplace. For further info on this item, please see the link below.
The fireplace interiors are bespoke panelled irons which offer a simple yet elegant option to complement the overall look and not overpower the firebasket. For more info on these or any of our products, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
